A line up of celebrity guests attending the Denver Home Show

The Denver Home Show opens its doors on March 20, 2015 and continues through March 22 at the National Western Complex. This year, the show welcomes DIY Networks Matt Muenster, host of Bath Crashers, to share eco-friendly design ideas to incorporate into the bathroom. Also, the 2015 Home + Garden Trendsetter of the Year winner, Leanne Lee, will be onstage all weekend to discuss the art of upcycling for home décor and more.

Muenster is a licensed contractor and designer from Minnesota. On Bath Crashers, he transforms outdated bathrooms into timeless spaces for any family and any design style. Through his experience on the DIY Network and his most recent appearance as a master carpenter on HGTVs Ellens Design Challenge, Muenster proves that he can step out of bathroom design and apply his skills to a wide variety of home renovation projects. Muenster will be on the Fresh Ideas Stage presented by American Furniture Warehouse on Friday, March 20 at 6 p.m., Saturday, March 21 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., and Sunday, March 22 at noon.

Leanne Lee, better known as the DIY Diva, is this years Home + Garden Trendsetter of the Year winner. Back in July of 2014, Marketplace Events introduced a new contest to find the most influential lifestyle blogger in the U.S. After a few months and multiple challenges, Lees personality and talents rose to the top. As this years Trendsetter of the Year, she wants to teach consumers how to design and create home accessories using items most people discard. Selection Process for Replacement Windows

Selection Process for Replacement Windows: What You Need to Know

Upgrading your windows can enhance your home’s aesthetic appeal, provide energy efficiency, and increase property value. When replacement windows become indispensable, you’ll want to ensure you understand the selection process. This post will give you everything you need to select the right windows for your property.

Determine Your Home’s Needs

Before shopping for replacement windows, consider why you want new ones. You may need better insulation, less noise, or better security. If energy efficiency is a priority, narrow your choices to Energy Star-rated windows, which are tested to meet a specific set of criteria. Considering the style and design complementing your property’s architecture is also essential. Each type of window has unique features, advantages, and disadvantages.

Consider the Material

Your chosen material determines your windows’ durability, maintenance needs, and energy performance. Vinyl windows are budget-friendly, easy to maintain, and energy-efficient, while aluminum windows are sturdy and long-lasting. Wood windows offer excellent insulation but require frequent maintenance to prevent rot and deterioration.

Choose Your Glass

The type of glass you choose is also essential as it affects your window’s energy efficiency, noise reduction, and safety. Double-pane and triple-pane glasses are well-known for retaining heat and reducing noise. Low-E glass coatings are designed to minimize heat transfer and protect your interior from harmful UV rays. Tempered glass and laminated glass are suitable for enhancing security and safety.

Compare Quotes

After determining your needs and preferences, it’s time to compare quotes from different contractors or manufacturers. Please factor in the material’s quality, energy efficiency rating, and installation costs. Feel free to ask questions about warranties, maintenance requirements, and lifespan. The cheapest quote may only sometimes be the best option. Choose a contractor that offers a reasonable price and excellent customer service.

Hire a Professional

The installation process is just as vital as the material you choose. Proper installation ensures that your windows work efficiently while maintaining their aesthetic appeal. You can choose a professional contractor with experience in window replacement and check their license and insurance coverage. Professional window installers will enhance your experience by providing warranties and ensuring you get the best performance out of your new windows.

Time to Choose a Window Company

When replacing your windows, selecting suitable materials, glass, and installers can significantly impact your investment’s longevity, functionality, and appearance. Remember that choosing quality materials and professional installation services will save you money in the long run. Follow these guidelines, and you’ll be on your way to enjoying comfortable, energy-efficient windows in your home.

5 Things About Window Replacement To Help Homeowners

When replacing windows, homeowners have a tough decision to make. Choosing a window that provides long-term durability and the perfect look for your house is essential – but with so many options, how can you determine which window is right for your home? We advise using four critical criteria when selecting replacement windows:

  • Style, cost savings potentials vs. initial expense costs
  • Energy efficiency ratings
  • Strength of the construction material used

Doing this research will ensure an educated choice.

Five factors determine the qualities and durability of replacement windows.

Total Performance

Replacement windows and doors should be thermally effective and add to the complete comfort of your home.

Pick a window that meets ENERGY STAR® guidelines and has a .32 or lower U-Value, which measures heat transfer within the window.

Material Strengths

Today, many window materials make it complicated for homeowners to understand which materials best suit their needs.

Replacement windows should be low maintenance, durable, and continue to look good over time. Wood windows look great but will require much more upkeep over time than fiberglass or low-maintenance vinyl alternatives.

Vinyl, the most frequently used material, tends to warp, fade, expand and contract in extreme temperatures, causing seal failures over time.

A better option is pultruded fiberglass for windows, like Infinity from Marvin. Vinyl also expands at higher rates than fiberglass. Because of its incredible durability and strength, fiberglass outperforms all other vinyl windows.

Appearance and Design

Advances in technology have made it possible to purchase high performance, long-lasting replacement windows that look great too.

Look for a narrow window profile. The thinner the profile, the more space can be used for glass, letting in more light and enhancing your view. A replacement window should also blend in seamlessly with your home, so choose a window that complements your interior.

Reliability and Expertise

There are hundreds of window manufacturers in the marketplace today. How do you know who to trust? Will the manufacturer choose still be in business ten years from now if you have a service need?

Choose a window manufacturer who is well-established and has an excellent reputation. Ask around to see who has been satisfied with the installation and service they received when replacing their windows.

Total Value

To ensure the best value, look for a business known for its reliability and expertise and a product that delivers it all – excellent performance, superior materials, and unmatched features and design – all at a competitive price.
